My story...

My life’s journey has taught me that lasting peace grows from love, knowledge, acceptance, understanding, and the willingness to share what we’ve learned along the way. That belief has guided both my personal healing and my professional path.

For more than two decades, I have worked in the behavioral health field, supporting children, adolescents, women, and families across a wide range of settings, including residential treatment centers, group homes, schools, and community spaces. My roles have ranged from supervisor in residential care for teenagers to founder of a nonprofit organization rooted in service and access. Each step has deepened my understanding of what people truly need to heal: safety, respect, consistency, and community.

My nonprofit organization, Tomaro’s C.H.A.N.G.E., remains one of the most meaningful expressions of my commitment to giving back. Through this work, I continue to support youth and families who may otherwise have limited access to emotional, psychological, and community-based care. It is where my professional training and community values meet most clearly.

My passion for community and the well-being of others has guided my work in holistic wellness coaching and community-based birth and postpartum doula support, with particular care for women of African descent. My approach reaches beyond textbooks and protocols. It incorporates mindfulness, reflection, group learning, healing, and culturally grounded practices that honor lived experience. Whether through women’s healing spaces, group education, or birth support, the focus remains the same: care that is respectful, informed, and human.

My support style prioritizes relationship-building and gentle, effective strategies for navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. For first-time parents, my doula work centers on education, advocacy, and steady presence throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, always within clear, community-based boundaries.

My education includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Work, and a double Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services. I am a board-certified Human Services Practitioner, a Licensed Master Social Worker, and a certified birth and postpartum Doula. These credentials matter, but they are not the heart of my work.

What defines me most in this work is a deep and steady desire to be of service. I believe in creating opportunity, widening access, and building spaces where women feel heard, supported, and respected. Being a resource, an advocate, and a consistent presence within the community is not simply what I do—it is who I am.

My philosophy...

My philosophy is grounded in empowerment, cultural awareness, and holistic care. I believe women deserve spaces where they feel seen, heard, and supported, especially during moments of transition, reflection, and change. Whether navigating emotional healing, personal growth, or preparing for birth, support should feel respectful, informed, and rooted in trust.

I honor the individuality of each woman’s experience. Life transitions, emotional, relational, or physical, are deeply personal and often transformative. My role is to create safe, nurturing spaces where women can reflect openly, access information, and make decisions with confidence and without judgment.

A culturally grounded approach is central to this work, particularly in supporting women of color. I remain mindful of the historical and systemic realities that shape lived experience and am intentional about honoring voice, autonomy, and self-trust. Community and shared understanding are foundational, not supplemental.

I view well-being through an integrated lens, recognizing emotional, physical, and internal alignment as interconnected. Education, reflection, mindfulness, and preparation are tools used to help women feel grounded and supported as they navigate what lies ahead.

In birth and postpartum spaces, this philosophy is expressed through education, advocacy, and steady presence. Emphasis is placed on preparation, informed choice, and respect for individual preferences, allowing families to move through pregnancy and early parenting with clarity and confidence.

Across all areas of my work, the intention remains the same: to reduce fear, build self-trust, and support women in moving through life’s transitions with greater ease, dignity, and connection.
